CFR Anthem Singer Contest 

Sing for a National Audience

The CFR Anthem Singer Contest gives aspiring performers the opportunity to sing O Canada live at the Canadian Finals Rodeo. Submit your audition for a chance to perform on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Prize Package

The winning artist will receive:

• Opportunity to perform the national anthem at CFR

• $1,000 cash prize

• 2 tickets to the Thursday CFR performance

• CFR merchandise and giveaways

Travel not included.

How It Works

• Submit one video of a song of your choice and one video of the Canadian national anthem.

• Entries are reviewed by a panel of CFR and music industry judges.

• The top five performers advance to the live final.

• Finalists compete live at Cook County Saloon on September 11, 2026.

• The winner is selected based on technique and showmanship.

KALYN VAN HORNE

Kalyn has worked in the live entertainment industry for 15 years. Kalyn believes live entertainment brings people together for a shared experience and adds value to the local community.  She has a love of understanding how things work behind the scenes and has experience in venue operations, outdoor festivals, and concerts. Kalyn currently works on the Community Initiatives & Agriculture team at Explore Edmonton where she is responsible for the entertainment planning of KDays, Canadian Finals Rodeo, and Farmfair International. Two of her favourite projects to lead each year are the KDays Main Stage concerts and the Supreme Show at Farmfair International.

Outside of work, Kalyn along with her husband and son live on an acreage in Strathcona County where they enjoy spending lots of time in the outdoors together.
