Cowboy Campfire Ice Cream, Texas Twinkies and Country Karaoke: CFR Week Rides into Edmonton

September 11, 2026

Edmonton is going western.

Beginning September 12, and all throughout Canadian Finals Rodeo Week (October 5–11), 40 local businesses will bring the spirit of CFR to life through more than 119 special events, western-inspired menu items, products, promotions and experiences.

While the Canadian Finals Rodeo takes over Rogers Place October 7–10, CFR Week will bring the celebration into neighbourhoods and businesses across the city, giving Edmontonians and visitors even more reasons to get out, explore and experience Edmonton.

From western-inspired food and drinks to country karaoke, competitions and special events, participating businesses are putting their own spin on CFR Week.

Those looking to get a taste of CFR Week can dig into The Ranchhand at Jack’s Burger Shack, a western-inspired burger featuring a beef patty, cheese, bacon jam, pickles, onions and buttermilk ranch. Yelo’d Ice Cream is serving up Cowboy Campfire Ice Cream and a Cowgirl Cookie, while MKT is rolling out a full CFR-inspired menu featuring house-smoked brisket, Texas Twinkies, Cowboy Breakfast and more.

The celebration goes beyond the menu. Rig Hand Craft Distillery will host a free Country Karaoke night, while Super Amigos Mexican Street Food is turning up the heat with its third annual Hot Sauce Eating Competition. The Alberta Aviation Museum will also bring the action to the skies with its RC Plane Mini Aerial Rodeo, featuring RC plane demonstrations, family activities and the opportunity to explore the museum.

“CFR brings more than 43,000 fans to the rodeo, but the experience doesn’t start and end when people walk through the doors at Rogers Place,” said Amanda Frigon, Director, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Explore Edmonton. “CFR Week gives local businesses the opportunity to be part of the celebration and gives fans and visitors a reason to get out and experience more of our city. This is what makes CFR bigger than the rodeo itself; the energy spreads across Edmonton, local businesses benefit, and our entire community gets to be part of it.”

This October, the rodeo takes over Rogers Place - and the celebration takes over Edmonton.

About the Canadian Finals Rodeo

Hear the roar of the arena in Edmonton October 7–10, 2026, as the Canadian Finals Rodeo takes over Rogers Place. CFR is Canada’s national championship rodeo, bringing elite rodeo athletes together for four days of world-class competition.

First held in Edmonton in 1974, CFR generated $32.4 million in total economic impact and more than 18,000 hotel room nights in 2025 alone. CFR is a cornerstone of Alberta’s western heritage and a major event for Edmonton.
