CFR Backroads Series | The Orvald Wayne Show & Brett Cassidy & Zach Moostoos-Willier

2026 CFR Backroads Series featuring:

The Orvald Wayne Show

(Country, Americana, Alt-Country)

TOWS has been bringing their hard-hitting country roots sound to the Canadian Midwest since their debut in 2024. Frontman Ty Orvald Wayne Lindberg sings hard scrabble songs of everyday prairie people whose lives he’s seen grow and change like the sun-whipped wheat stalks of the western plains. His tough-luck twang, pedal steel & telecaster accompaniment help carry the western-centric lyricism, becoming a time machine for listeners straight to the honkytonks and roadhouse bars of the past.

Brett Cassidy

(Folk, Alt-Country, Americana)

Brett Cassidy is a Calgary-based multi-instrumentalist who has stepped into the spotlight after a decade performing as a supporting musician in bands touring across Canada. Rooted where the prairies meet the Rockies, his songs draw as much inspiration from traditional folk and country music as they do from psych-rock drones, and are guided by a stubbornly DIY spirit and the power of community.

Zach Moostoos-Willier

(Country, Folk, Bluegrass)

Zach Moostoos-Willier is a 21 year old Cree and Métis neo-traditional singer, songwriter and fiddler who comes from Sucker Creek First Nation.

In April 2022, he was asked by the Royal Canadian National Geographic Society to represent Western Canada for the launch of the UNESCO Decade of Indigenous Languages in Ottawa, Ontario.

In April 2023, he was one of the two first recipients to receive the Stirling John Foundation support for indigenous youth in Alberta.

In April 2026, he achieved a number 1 record on the Indigenous Music Countdown with his single titled “Sad Songs”
